Be sure to join us this coming Sunday for game night at youth group! We have a lot of fun games planned,and will crown lots of champions. Junior High will meet from 4:30pm –6:30pm. Senior High will meet from 6:00pm –8:00pm. We will also participate in the Meditation and Praise Worship at 6pm. A big congratulations goes out to all the youth who have participated in producing and staring in the High School plays. We are amazed by your dedication,tenacity and talent. You are an inspiration! At Pleasantville High School the students put on a wonderful production of “Beauty and the Beast” At Briarcliff High School the students beautifully presented “Sugar”,based off the film,“Some Like it Hot” At Westlake High School the students are preparing to present,“The Drowsy Chaperone” This year,the Presbyterian Church is challenging you to change your heart! We have two new opportunities this year for you to take THE CHALLENGE! One is a summer experiential education trip,to Lithia,Florida (just outside of Tampa) where we will learn and work with migrant farm workers,a community garden,and an inner city ministry. The other way you can take the challenge is to join our Challenge to Change evening program. We will get together once a month to explore ways we can do justice,love kindness and walk humbly with God. The first issue we are going to tackle is food justice. We will explore where food comes from,who is involved,and how we can use food to “do justice.”Our first meeting is March 21st,the program is from 5:30-6:30pm with dinner to follow. The program is open to anyone with a heart for justice and a willingness to take the challenge,so be sure to save the date,and invite a friend! Be sure to join us this week at PYC for soup making! Junior High (6th-8th Grade) 4:30-6:30pm and Senior High (9th-12th Grade) 6:00-8:00pm! Each week during Lent,one of the church’s in Pleasantville is hosting a Lenten Soup Supper and Worship. We will be making soup for March 7th,when the Presbyterian Church is hosting the Lenten Soup Supper and Worship. Last year we made soup under the theme,“Stone Soup.”This year we are switching it up a little! The theme is,“Where did THAT come from?!” GET PUMPED! This year’s ski trip is just around the corner. Thanks to all the junior high youth who helped put together College Care Packages for some of our college students. These packages are a little slice of home and are so meaningful durring such a stressful time of year! November is going to be a big month at PYC! Be sure to check out our November Calendar! Calling all Junior High Students! Remember the team building retreat we went to in the beginning of October? Remember what a good time we had? Well! While we had to cancel Trunk or Treat,it was good to see so many people venture out for our Dia de los Muertos celebration! Hopefully everyone is back up and running,warm,and powered! This Saturday is our second annual TRUNK OR TREAT!!! Be sure to stop by the church on Saturday between 12-2pm to see all the festivities,decorations,activities,and of course candy! Come in costume,come with a decorated car trunk,or come just as you are! | ||||
